Recap: 60th Anniversary Gala Kick-Off

Images from last week’s kick-off to Aperture’s Sixtieth Anniversary Gala and Auction season.

The year 2012 marks Aperture Foundation’s sixtieth anniversary, and we continued our celebration last Thursday evening at the home of Bonnie Englebardt-Lautenberg for the kick-off reception of Aperture Foundation’s 60th Anniversary Gala Dinner and Photography Auction. We were joined by several of the truly exceptional individuals we will be paying tribute to at our 60th Anniversary Gala on October 23, including our board chairman Celso Gonzalez-Falla and Sondra Gilman, Aperture trustees John Gutfreund, Cathy Kaplan, Jessica Nagle, Anne Stark, Alan Stoga, and former Aperture trustee Mark Levine.

Now is the time to reserve the best seating for the Gala and Auction. Premium tables and tickets are available at the Patron level (at $15,000 for a table of ten and $1,500 for a single Patron ticket), which include special Patron events. Tables are also available at $10,000 and tickets at $1,000. This year, we have a new category—the Aperture at Sixty Benefactor Pair for $7,500, which include the Patron Events and the best seating for the Gala Dinner without needing to fill a table!

We’re so proud to present the remarkable works in this year’s auction, including works by Chuck Close, Bruce Davidson, Robert Mapplethorpe, and Diane Arbus. Visit our 60th Anniversary Gala page to browse the digital edition of our 60th Anniversary Photography Auction catalog and purchase tickets online, or learn more about our absentee-bidding option and an exciting $100 raffle opportunity!

Special thanks to Bonnie Englebardt-Lautenberg for so graciously hosting this wonderful reception and for welcoming us into her beautiful home and sharing with us her marvelous collection.
