Aperture Connect Member Meetup

Tuesday, May 3

8:30 p.m. EDT

The Patrick Montgomery Collection is hosting the second annual meetup event for Aperture Connect Members. Aperture Connect is a dynamic group of supporters (ages 21 to 37), residing in the New York Tri-state area, who seek to further their knowledge and understanding of photography, publishing, and the international photo community.

About The Patrick Montgomery Collection

The History of Photography Archive, assembled by archivist/collector Patrick Montgomery, contains more than ten thousand items related to the first hundred years of photography’s history. Its diverse holdings, made up of photographs, albums, books, manuals, exhibition catalogs, and other ephemera, were collected to illustrate all aspects of the medium’s development – technical, social, and commercial – and includes the work of many of photography’s lesser known pioneers.

Montgomery is a former documentary filmmaker, the owner of the historical stock agency Archive Films/Archive Photos, and a longtime trustee of the George Eastman Museum. The collection is housed in the Flatiron district loft that previously belonged to photographer Robert Mapplethorpe.
