INVITE ONLY
New York City photographer and gallerist, Jan Staller is hosting the fourth Aperture Connect meetup of 2016. Aperture Connect is a dynamic group of supporters (ages 21 to 37), residing in the New York Tri-state area, who seek to further their knowledge and understanding of photography, publishing, and the international photo community.
JAN STALLER is both an American photographer focused on objects rooted in urban landscapes and a keen collector of art and industrial design. For more than thirty-five years, Staller’s photography has traced a trajectory from urban landscapes to bold abstracted studies of industrial materials. His pioneering twilight photographs of New York City have been acquired and exhibited at such institutions as the New Museum, Whitney Museum of American Art, the High Museum of Art, the Art Institute of Chicago, and MoMA. Over the years, Staller has collected and sold hundreds of significant twentieth century designs and art objects. His own art practice includes metal working and he has fabricated lighting, furniture, eyeglass frames, and other functional objects.
Not an Aperture Connect Member? Become one today to receive an exclusive invitation to see the photography collection of Jan Staller and participate in other meetups year-round.
