The photographer, featured in Aperture's book reGeneration 2: Photographers Today, admits to being very much one of her own subjects—that is, a group of young Lima inhabitants who are searching, albeit without much of a compass, for an alternative lifestyle that is opposed to the solid mainstream. Rodrigo Graña realizes that her peer group is intensely self-conscious, acting out roles ordained by ubiquitous commercial imagery, and that much of the reality of their world is mere façade.
Camila Rodrigo Graña (born in Lima, Peru, in 1983) graduated from Forma, Centro Internazionale di Fotografia, Milan, Italy in 2009.
