Pedro Mayer is the founder and president of the Consejo Mexicano de Fotografía (Mexican Council of Photography) and organizer of the first three Latin American Photography Colloquiums. His work has been exhibited in hundreds of museums worldwide, and can be found in the permanent collections of The National Art Museum of China in Beijing, The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, The Victoria and Albert Museum in London, The Musee National D'art Moderne Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, The International Center of Photography in New York, and many others. He is a recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, and of the first Rockefeller Foundation grant to be awarded to an online project.
