Sandy Skoglund (born in Weymouth, Massachusetts, 1946) is an American artist whose conceptual photography–based work explores a characteristic combination of familiarity and discomfort, humor and depth, ease and anxiety. Her repetitive, process-oriented art production includes handmade objects as well as kitsch subject matter. Her work often incorporates sculpture and installation with vibrantly colored, meticulously constructed sets, questioning popular culture and commercial photography techniques. Skoglund’s work was featured in Feast for the Eyes (Aperture, 2017) and in the “Male/Female” issue of Aperture magazine (1999).
Space is very limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis.
