Instagram Live: House & Home
Saturday, April 4 – Sunday, April 5
Watch at @aperturefnd
In an effort to engage with our community during these uncertain times, we’re excited to launch a series of virtual events. Over the next few months, Aperture will be hosting weekly Instagram Live discussions on timely topics with photographers, writers, curators, and our editors.
We launch this series with a look inside the current issue of Aperture magazine, “House & Home,” which considers the many forms and meanings of home. Join us to hear from contributors to the issue as they discuss photography, housing, and the domestic realm.
Saturday, April 4:
2:00 p.m.: Jason Fulford on Denise Scott Brown and how to picture a home
2:25 p.m.: Sara Knelman on the 1991 MoMA exhibition Pleasures and Terrors of Domestic Comfort
2:45 p.m.: Alejandro Cartagena on housing and the American dream in Mexico
Sunday, April 5:
2:00 p.m.: Lena Fritsch on the home in Japanese photography
2:25 p.m.: Ed Panar on his project Walking Through Walker Evans
2:45 p.m.: Mauro Restiffe on Jean Cocteau’s “tattooed villa” and other buildings
Lead funding for the “House & Home” issue of Aperture magazine is provided by the Henry Luce Foundation. Significant support for Aperture magazine is also provided by The Kanakia Foundation.
