The Photo-Text Book: A Conversation at Maison Europénne de la Photographie, Paris
Thursday, June 13
RSVP through the MEP website
As part of the public programme of Season 2 of the Maison Européenne de la Photographie (MEP) in Paris, dedicated to Henry Wessel and Film Noir, the photo-literary platform Photocaptionist celebrates its 5th anniversary and the release of issue 016 of Aperture’s PhotoBook Review, dedicated to photo-text books, with a conversation on photography, fictions and words, in the good company of The Gould Collection, a publisher of photobooks that unites photographers with short story writers. After the conversation between Federica Chiocchetti, founding director of the Photocaptionist and guest editor of Aperture’s PhotoBook Review, Issue 016, and Laurence Vecten, co-founder of The Gould Collection, the audience will have the opportunity to leaf through some amazing photo-text books featured in Aperture’s PBR from the MEP Library.

The PhotoBook Review is a biannual newsprint journal dedicated to the consideration of the photobook — from the coffee-table book to the hand-made artist edition, and on fostering a better understanding of the ecosystem of the photobook as a whole. The PhotoBook Review is available in select bookstores, including the Aperture Gallery, and to subscribers to Aperture magazine. The PhotoBook Review is a co-production of Aperture and Paris Photo.
