Aperture Members at the Friend, Dual Friend/FamilyPatron Circle, Benefactor Circle, and Paul Stand Circle levels are invited to the Long Island City studio of Aperture-published photographer Jeff Chien Hsing Liao for refreshments and a discussion led by the artist.

Jeff Chien-Hsing Liao (born in Taiwan, 1977) first received recognition with his series Habitat 7, which was featured in the September 11, 2005, issue of the New York Times Magazine as the winner of the Capture the Times photography contest. In 2014, Jeff Chien-Hsing Liao: New York was published by Aperture. His work has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, and can be found in the permanent collections of institutions such as the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston; Queens Museum, New York; Brooklyn Museum, New York; J. Paul Getty Museum, Los Angeles; George Eastman House, Rochester, New York; Norton Museum of Art, West Palm Beach, Florida; JGS Howard Stein Collection, New York; Pilara Foundation Collection, San Francisco; Allen G. Thomas Jr. Collection, North Carolina; and Deutsche Bank Collection. His current project will be on view at the Foley Gallery September 6 – October 15.
