Opening Reception and Book Launch for Tommy Kha

Wednesday, February 8

6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. EDT

Baxter St at the Camera Club of New York, 126 Baxter St, New York, NY 10013

Join Aperture and Baxter St at CCNY for the opening reception of solo exhibition Ghost Bites and the book launch of Half, Full, Quarter (Aperture, 2023), both from Tommy Kha, winner of the second annual Next Step Award.

Tommy Kha: Half, Full, Quarter weaves together self-portraits and classically bucolic landscapes punctuated by the traces of East Asian stories embedded in the topography of the American South.

The exhibition will be on view from February 8 to March 22, 2023, at Baxter St’s Main Gallery. Both the publication and exhibition are the result of the Next Step Award, a partnership between Aperture and Baxter St at the Camera Club of New York, in partnership with the 7|G Foundation.

Tommy Kha (born in Memphis, 1988) lives and works between Brooklyn and Memphis. He received his MFA from Yale University in 2013, and is the recipient of the 2021 Aperture–Baxter St Next Step Award.
