Aperture is pleased to present this special limited-edition risograph. This unique edition of Garden with fruit (after Charles Ethan Porter) was risograph printed under the supervision of the artist and WORK/PLAY in February 2022. The edition was created on the occasion of the publication of the artist's monograph True Colors (or, Affirmations in a Crisis) published by Aperture in 2022 as part of the Aperture–Baxter St Next Step Award, in partnership with the 7|G Foundation.

Limited to seventy-five copies and ten artist’s proofs, each print is presented in a Sour Apple–colored envelope, and includes a colophon with text by Terence Washington, which is signed and numbered by the artist.

Printed using multiple passes on a Riso MF9450U in Fluorescent Orange, Fluorescent Pink, Lake, Light Teal, Sunflower, Ivy, and White inks on 80C French Paper Speckletone Kraft, this print was made using custom ICC profiles built specifically for the image and was printed at theretherenow, Columbia, Missouri, an independent risograph atelier founded in 2016.

About the Artist

Zora J Murff (b. 1987, Des Moines, Iowa) is Assistant Professor of Photography at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. In 2019, Murff was named an Aperture Portfolio Prize finalist, a PDN 30 honoree, and a Light Work Artist-in-Residence; he was one of eight artists chosen for the most recent iteration of the Museum of Modern Art’s New Photography series, Companion Pieces: New Photography 2020. Murff’s books include Corrections (2015); LOST, Omaha (2018); and At No Point In Between (2019). His work was presented at the 2021 Rencontres d’Arles, France, as part of the Louis Roederer Discovery Award.
