In lesson seventeen, students will learn that context refers to both the situation in which a photograph is made and the situation in which it is used or seen. The class will consider the work of Rinko Kawauchi, and how the sequence, or context, in which we encounter images influences their meanings. Using printouts of their images, students will begin sequencing their work in a way that communicates an idea or feeling about their chosen theme.
