If you have already paid your bill but are still receiving invoices, please keep in mind that it can take up to two weeks for us to receive and process your payment. If it has been less than two weeks since you sent your payment, please disregard any invoices that you receive, as our letters may have crossed in the mail.

If it has been more than four weeks since you remitted payment, please contact us by e-mail, phone, or mail.

Damaged Issues
We realize that sometimes magazines get damaged during delivery. To request a replacement copy, please contact us by e-mail, phone, or mail. If your magazines frequently arrive damaged and your mailbox is sufficiently sized, please check with the post office to see what can be done.

Late or Missed Issues
If you have missed an issue, please contact us by e-mail, phone, or mail to make sure we have your correct address and to request a replacement copy. Delivery may have also been suspended if there is an outstanding balance on your account. To make a payment, please click here to go to our secure payment page.

Cancellations
If, for any reason, you want to cancel your subscription, please let us know by e-mail, phone, or mail.  If you cancel your subscription, we are happy to offer a refund on any unmailed issues.

If you canceled your subscription but are still receiving bills, please note that it takes a few days for a cancellation to become effective. If it has been more than four weeks since you cancelled your subscription and you are still receiving notices, please alert us by e-mail, phone, or mail.

1. ZINIO offers digital subscriptions and single issues of Aperture for tablets, smart phones, and online viewing. They provide help for their customers here. Every print subscriber receives the Zinio edition for free.

How long will it take for my first issue to arrive?

U.S. orders can take 4–6 weeks for processing and shipment. International (including Canada and Mexico) can take 6–8 weeks.

Can I track my order?

Unfortunately, magazine subscriptions cannot be tracked.

How frequently is Aperture published and when can I expect to receive my issues?

Aperture is published quarterly in March, June, September, and December. Issues usually arrive around the 8th day of the publication month.

What is The PhotoBook Review?

The PhotoBook Review is a biannual tabloid-sized newspaper dedicated to photobooks, with reviews, opinion pieces, artist selections, and publisher profiles. Outside of a few select festivals and venues, the only way to receive a print copy is to subscribe to Aperture magazine. Aperture subscribers will receive a free copy of The PhotoBook Review along with the Fall and Winter issues of the magazine.

How I can set up my free digital edition, complimentary with my print subscription?

We must have your e-mail address to send you the digital edition, which is served by Zinio.
For new subscribers, if you provided your e-mail address when you placed your order, approximately 10 days after you pay for your subscription you will receive an e-mail from Zinio that your digital edition has been delivered. To access the Zinio edition, you will need to create an account on zinio.com using the e-mail address where you received the notice. What is the difference between the Digital Edition and Digital Archive?

The Digital Edition is a digital copy of the current issue. It is hosted by Zinio and is available for free to all print subscribers or by subscription.

The Digital Archive contains digitized versions of every issue of Aperture ever published since 1952. It is a searchable, in-depth resource that is updated with each new issue upon publication. To subscribe or find out more about the Archive, click here.

What is the Portfolio Prize and how can I enter?

The Portfolio Prize is an annual international competition to discover, exhibit, and publish new talents in photography. To enter, you must be an Aperture magazine subscriber. The first-prize winner will be published in Aperture magazine and will receive a $3,000 cash prize along with an exhibition curated by Aperture in New York. More information can be found here.

Can I start my subscription with a back issue?

Unfortunately, no. We can only process new subscriptions starting with the current issue.

What is my account number?

If you are a current print subscriber, check the address label that accompanied a recent issue or request your account number by sending an e-mail with your name and address to [email protected]

If you are a new subscriber, your account number will be included in your confirmation e-mail, which you should receive approximately 30 minutes after your order is submitted.

I still have issues left with my current subscription, so why am I receiving renewal notices?

Renewal notices are sent out well before your subscription expires. This is to ensure you have ample time to renew and do not miss an issue. If you have already renewed but are still receiving notices, please keep in mind that it can take up to two weeks for us to receive and process your payment. What is Automatic Renewal?

Automatic Renewal is a no-risk option that means your subscription will be renewed at the end of your term unless you tell us to stop. Monthly archive-only subscriptions will be renewed at the beginning of every month. For everyone else, we’ll send a reminder approximately 30 days before the end of your subscription with the term and rate then in effect. If you do nothing, we will charge the payment method you’ve selected. You may sign up or cancel this feature by calling 866.457.4603 or emailing [email protected] at any time during your subscription term.

How do I send a letter to the editors?

You can contact the editors by e-mail. Please do not send any unsolicited artwork, photographs, book maquettes, or manuscripts, as we cannot assume responsibility for their return.
