Kathy Ryan is the longtime director of photography at The New York Times Magazine. During her time there, the magazine has been recognized with numerous photography awards, including two Emmy Awards and National Magazine Awards in 2011 and 2012. Ryan has received the Royal Photographic Society’s annual award for Outstanding Service to Photography, and the Picture Editor of the Year award at
Visa pour l’Image. She has curated exhibitions, lectured on photography extensively, and is the author and editor of The New York Times Magazine Photographs (Aperture, 2011).
Gerald Marzorati was the editor of “The New York Times Magazine” from 2003-2010. He previously worked as an editor at the “Soho News”, ” Harper s” magazine, and “The New Yorker”. His writing has appeared in “The New York Times” and many other publications. He is the author of “Late to the Ball” and A” Painter of Darkness”, which won the PEN/Martha Albrand award for a first book of nonfiction. He is the editorial director of “Times Live”.
