Angélica Dass: The Colors We Share
Wednesday, October 4
6:00 p.m. EDT
Join the Aperture PhotoBook Club in October to discuss The Colors We Share. Photographer Angélica Dass and Aperture’s executive director, Sarah Meister, will be joined by Aperture senior editor Denise Wolff, and teaching artist Monique Vogelsang, who helped usher this work into the hands of young students through an Aperture-designed school curriculum.
Made for young readers six and up, this book features portraits that celebrate the diverse beauty of human skin. By depicting people from all over the world against a background that matches their skin tone, Angélica shows us how colorful humans really are, questioning the concept of race and the limited categories we use to describe each other, reflecting her conviction that these ideas are simply too small for a world that contains so many beautiful colors and people.
This virtual public program is free and open to all.
