Aperture’s Annual Paul Strand Circle Event

Aperture’s Annual Paul Strand Circle Event will celebrate artist Jarod Lew and the summer Aperture magazine issue “Being & Becoming: Asian in America” at the lovely home of Aperture Trustee Kate Cordsen and Magazine Council member, Denis O’Leary.

Jarod Lew (born in Detroit, Michigan, 1987) is a Chinese American artist and photographer currently based in New Haven. His work, which explores themes of identity, community, and displacement has earned him major recognition, including features in Aperture, Artforum, and Elephant magazine. In 2021, Lew was shortlisted for the Aperture Portfolio Prize. His photographs are in the permanent collections at the Harvard Art Museums/Fogg Museum and the Detroit Institute of Arts. Lew’s work is featured in a group exhibition at SFMOMA called Kinship: Photography and Connection until November 26.
