SPE Annual Conference 2025: Adaptation
Thursday, March 6 - Saturday, March 8
Join Aperture at the Exhibits Fair during the Society for Photographic Education’s annual conference. SPE is a crucial incubator for scholarship, innovation, community building, and professional development. This year’s theme, “Adaptation,” will consider how the medium of photography has continuously evolved in the face of radical change, and how, as photographers and educators, we can adapt to the social revolutions around us.
Aperture’s booth will feature the winter issue of the magazine, “Image Worlds to Come: Photography & AI,” as well as our latest books, including titles by Louis Carlos Bernal, Arielle Bobb-Willis, Maurice Berger, Paul Mpagi Sepuya, and Diana Markosian, plus classic bestsellers. The conference will also host a book signing with the photographer Kelli Connell, as well as speakers currently featured by Aperture, including Trevor Paglen.
Additionally, Aperture will be featuring the ten-year refresh of our free, open-source photography curriculum, Aperture On Sight. This educator-centered resource features twenty lessons spanning photographic techniques and photobook creation, supported by contemporary images within the history of Aperture.
