2023 Aperture Paris Photo Patron Program

Wednesday, November 8 - Sunday, November 12

12:00 a.m. - 11:59 p.m. CEST

From November 8–11, Aperture hosted our patrons in the City of Light for Paris Photo! This exciting annual trip brings together Aperture’s dedicated Patron Circle members, offering a chance to engage in guided tours of the Paris Photo art fair at the Grand Palais Éphémère, exclusive visits to museums and galleries, and a festive cocktail party and dinner with Aperture’s extended family of artists, writers, curators, and supporters.

Aperture patrons were treated to a private tour Aperture led patrons on a private tour of Sophie Calle’s immersive exhibition at the Musée National Picasso, with a personal welcome and introduction from the artist herself. We had the pleasure of visiting the home and studio of Louis Stettner (1922–2016), and were treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of his archive led by his family. We also celebrated new Aperture publications, including a visit to Galerie Made for a talk with artist Myriam Boulos, whose work was on view in connection with her newly launched first monograph What’s Ours, and a reception with legendary photographer Josef Koudelka at Magnum Gallery, toasting his biography just released this season. At the fair, our guests enjoyed access to the VIP Vernissage, joined exclusive conversations with artists Viviane Sassen, Mame-Diarra Niang, Kelli Connell, and Lola Flash about their work on view, and celebrated the winners of the 2023 Paris Photo–Aperture PhotoBook Awards announced on site. We gathered for a celebratory cocktail at J.K. Place Paris, enjoyed an incredible dinner at legendary brasserie Le Grand Colbert, and danced till dawn at a late-night launch party at SoHo House for Trustee Kenneth Montague’s As We Rise LP, conceived as a soundtrack to the Aperture book and exhibition of hits from his photography collection.
