Aperture at Photoville!
Saturday, September 18
2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. EDT
Join Aperture for a day of family fun at Photoville with photographer Alice Proujansky as we explore with participants the themes of self-portraiture and identity through two photo activities.
In Alice’s activity, participants will create their own “Little Me” with Alice! How would everything look if you were super small? How would a change in size help you notice different things? Alice will work with participants to create an action shot of themselves, print it out, attach it to a stick, and then take their “Little Me” on a photographic adventure where ordinary objects become giant!
In her book The Colors We Share Angélica Dass shows us how wonderfully colorful humans really are. In the second activity participants will discover how to mix their own skin color with paint, and discover how they see themselves and others, through both similarities and differences.
