Duane Michals (born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, 1932) is known for his work with series, multiple exposures, and text. Michals first made significant creative strides in photography during the 1960s. In an era heavily influenced by photojournalism, Michals manipulated the medium to communicate larger narratives. He is known for sequences of photographs, which appropriate cinema’s frame-by-frame format, and for incorporating text as a key component in his works.

Eligible members will receive email invitations directly.
