Visit Aperture at Art Toronto, where we will feature signed copies of Awol Erizku’s Mystic Parallax, a comprehensive monograph working across photography, film, video, painting, and installation , and Kristine Potter’s second monograph, Dark Waters, a dark and brooding series reflecting on the Southern Gothic landscape.
New limited-edition works by each artist will be on view, as well as work by Carlos Idun-Tawiah, as featured in “Accra,” the current issue of Aperture magazine, plus works by John Edmonds, Sara Cwynar, Ed Templeton, An-My Lê, and more from our limited editions program.
In addition, join us for the launch and listening party for Sounds of the Black Atlantic, a compilation of music that reflects the essence of the best-selling photobook and accompanying exhibition As We Rise: Photography from the Black Atlantic (Aperture, 2021), drawn from Dr. Kenneth Montague’s Wedge Collection in Toronto. Join Dr. Montague and CBC radio host Odario Williams as they play the record and discuss the significance of the featured tracks on Saturday, October 28, 6–7:30 pm.
