Aperture Loves New York

Opening on September 18, 2026, Aperture’s new home at 380 Columbus Avenue features a bookstore and gallery with a rotation of intimate photography presentations and a dynamic calendar of programming.

The inaugural installation, Aperture Loves New York, pays tribute to photographers who have shaped—and been shaped by—the city. Showcasing artists long championed by Aperture and anchored in Aperture’s publishing history, the presentation brings together important and memorable photographs with corresponding Aperture books that have advanced the medium of photography and captured the complex spirit of New York City. Organized by Sarah Meister, Executive Director, the installation features photographs by more than twenty artists, including Diane ArbusTina BarneyDawoud BeyAwol ErizkuRobert FrankLee FriedlanderNan GoldinDeana LawsonStephen ShoreCoreen Simpson, and Carrie Mae Weems. Aperture Loves New York will be on view through November 1, 2026.

Inside our flagship bookstore stocking seven decades of select Aperture publications, Dashwood Books—New York City’s only independent bookstore devoted entirely to photography—offers a robust and continuously refreshed selection of titles. For the opening month of September, Anshika Varma, founder of Offset Projects in New Delhi, launches a new program featuring guest publishers with a range of books showcasing India’s independent publishing landscape.
