Guest Editor Charlotte Cotton states that her aim is “to be pluralistic in my approach to the photobook—not just to create a canon checklist of this essential form of photography.” This conversation-led issue pushes readers to consider the interrelations between digital and analog forms with an exchange between photographer Jason Evans and musician and artist Kieran Hebden (Four Tet); and Jason Fulford in dialogue with designer David Reinfurt. Penny Martin, editor of the biannual style magazine The Gentlewoman, discusses the role of editors and the relationship of magazines to books with Emily King, design historian, curator, and critic. Adam Broomberg and Oliver Chanarin memorialize Italian publisher Gigi Giannuzzi.
