Coming Soon: PhotoBook Review Issue 004

The next issue, guest edited by Charlotte Cotton, will be launched this spring in Los Angeles, New York, and Milan.

Next month Aperture will celebrate the release of Issue 004 of The PhotoBook Review, the foundation’s biannual survey of the photobook medium. Each issue has a guest editor, and this time we have tapped curator and author Charlotte Cotton, who has worked at institutions in London and Los Angeles; organized Words Without Pictures, published in several formats, including an edition released by Aperture and the Los Angeles County Musuem of Art; and wrote an essay for the Spring 2013 issue of Aperture magazine. As PhotoBook Review publisher Lesley A. Martin notes of Cotton’s contribution, “In this issue, we’re treated to a perspective on community as an evolving delivery system for networked knowledge that is both personal and observant.”

The PhotoBook Review Issue 004 will be launched at ParisPhoto Los Angeles during the weekend of April 26–28, 2013. A subsequent launch will take place at Aperture Gallery in New York (details TBA), and European readers can pick up a copy of the magazine at the Milan Image Art Fair during the weekend of May 10–12, 2013. Some of the issue’s contents, including online-only interviews, will be made available at aperture.org/pbr at the end of April. Stay tuned!
